May is Here!!!
As spring blooms, we enjoy being outdoors more. The ays are longer, warmer, and greener. The mandate on wearing masks outside for those who are immunized is being lifted and we have the opportunity to enjoy the smiles we have been missing!
May is mental health awareness month and it is so important that we continue the conversation about mental illness as brain disorders and seek concrete actions towards a full continuum of services from outpatient care to lengthier hospital stays.
Spring brings the return of symptoms such as mania, anxiety, and impulsivity, especially in the wake of a healing world.
We have begun offering a new program for parents who have lost a child to suicide. The Live! Parents Support Program meets weekly at 1pm and provides an opportunity to connect with others who share this experience. For more information and to register, https://growastrongfamily.org/live-parents-support-program/
Replanting Lives will not be meeting again until the fall. When additional support is desired, consider coaching! We have been and continue to be zooming coaching sessions. It is a wonderful way to manage your caregiving responsibilities in “real time” as things pop up. Feel free to give yourselves the benefit of a cheerleader in your corner, someone knowledgeable and ready to support you on this journey.
As ever, thank you for supporting us in supporting caregivers impacted by someone’s mental illness/brain disorder. If you can, feel free to donate!
Please continue to take good, loving care of yourselves. And when you need information, consider visiting our website! It is chock full of great content. https://growastrongfamily.org/
Be well! DON’T GO IT ALONE! We are here for you!
